Surveys in the Mail!

Our survey are going out! Since 2009, about 2,000 people participate in our Aging and Quality of Life Survey.

And, well, 2,000 is a lot of surveys! Here's how we do it:

• In order for our small research team to handle the workload, we mail out our surveys in batches each week for the next few months.
• Our research staff prints out all of the materials, stuffs the envelopes, and places all of the mailing labels by hand.
• Next, we start getting surveys back in the mail. Our research staff check each survey for questions that were overlooked - sometimes pages stick together. We call to collect these questions that were accidentally missed.
• Next, we enter the answers to each question into a database. This gets done twice by 2 different people in order to make sure it was entered correctly.
• It seems like just when we finish, we get ready to do it all over again for the next survey.
